A mother black bear walks across the road Thursday at the Mendenhall Glacier Visitor Center. A group of would-be paparazzi and other onlookers carefully stand by. The sow crossed the road first as her two cubs waited in the bushes to see if the coast was clear before they both scurried across to meet mama. These and other bears have been frequenting the glacier area in search of salmon from nearby creeks.
