Like most Alaskans I am just sick about the latest revelations regarding Gov. Sarah Palin's totally inappropriate expense charges.
And learning that my old pal Ted Stevens has been indicted on charges of not reporting gifts really ruined my week. If he is really responsible, Stevens, of all people, knows what the consequences are.
Legislators with questionable ethical standards seem to be the norm in Alaska today, but it doesn't have to be that way.
That oil industry people are convicted of nickel-and-dime bribery goes with the territory today, I guess. My opinion of the oil guys has never changed: Don't worry about giving them anything - they'll take what they want.
Which brings me back to the governor and her dealings with petroleum folks. Now that state records reveal how she apparently feels about the rules and ethics most state employees have observed for five decades, maybe we should look into the details of her gas line deals.
Just a thought. Or two.
