R& M changes hands: R&M Engineering recently transferred majority ownership from Malcolm A. Menzies to Mike Story and R& R&M changes hands: R&M Engineering recently transferred majority ownership from Malcolm A. Menzies to Mike Story and Mark Pusich. Story was elected president by the corporate shareholders and will manage the daily operations. Pusich will remain vice-president and be in charge of civil engineering. Menzies will remain with the firm as a minority owner and project engineer and surveyor.

New shareholder at Baxter Bruce Brand: Kevin J. Sullivan has become a shareholder of the law firm Baxter Bruce Brand. Sullivan was admitted to the Alaska Bar Association in 1993. His areas of concentration include estate planning, trusts and trust administration, commercial transactions, real estate and general practice.

Spenard Builders names new sales manager: Roger Sele has been promoted to outside sales manager at Spenard Builders Supply. Sele has been an employee of SBS in Sitka for more than 10 years and has held a variety of positions, including retail sales, contractor sales and floor manager. Sele, who will relocate to Juneau, will develop business in contractor sales for major remodels, as well as residential and commercial projects in Southeast Alaska.

Pence becomes co-owner of Toner-Nordling: William T. Pence, a professional land surveyor, has joined Peter Hildre, professional engineer, as owner of Toner-Nordling & Associates. Former owner Ronald King, a professional land surveyor, retired on May 31. Pence obtained his bachelor's degree in surveying and associate's degree in civil engineering technology from Oregon Institute of Technology in 1985 and has been a licensed surveyor in Alaska since 1988. Pence joined the firm in 1983.

Treasury ups Perkins' status: Thomas W. Per-kins, tax manager at Logan General Tax Practice, recently achieved his enrolled agent status from the Department of Treasury. Enrolled agents are licensed by the federal government to represent taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service. Perkins passed a two-day examination given annually by the IRS to achieve the status.
