Letter: Gruening omitted

Your thoughtfully written and well deserving Juneau Color story about Clark Gruening in the Sept. 8 issue omitted one critically important fact: Clark's grandfather, Ernest Gruening, was governor of Alaska from 1939-53. Gov. (later Sen.) Gruening championed Alaska's worthy causes during all those years, and he was also a proud Juneauite and a good neighbor and friend.
