Juneau resident Minda Bautista Quiño died Sept. 8, 2002, in Juneau.
She was born in Naga, Cebu, Philippines, on March 15, 1938. She married Marcial Quiño Jr. in 1958 and they raised 10 children. In 1997 she moved to Juneau and lived with her daughter's family. She was a mother and a homemaker. She was an active member of National Senior Service Corps and involved in the Foster Grandparent Program. She also volunteered at the St. Vincent de Paul Store.
Her family said she loved spending time with her family and friends in the church, here and in the Philippines.
She was preceded in death by her husband.
She is survived by her children Lillian, Marissa, Elvie and husband Jim Holzenberg, Lira, Raul and wife Efle, Pamela and husband Rene Sasan, Maynard and wife Binky, John and wife Rowena, Ramon and Rachel; seven grandchildren; and many other relatives.
Services will be held on Friday, Sept. 13, at St. Paul's Catholic Church. Viewing will be from 5-6 p.m. and Mass will follow at 7 p.m. Her casket will be flown to the Philippines next week and a similar funeral service will be held in Cebu City. She will be buried next to her husband's grave in Naga, Cebu.
