JUNEAU - Juneau artist Rick Clair is hosting an open house and art show this weekend.
"It's an on open studio show," Clair said. "I'll have some new originals, some prints and larger canvases."
The show runs from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 14 and 15 in his new studio. The studio is downstairs at 299 1/2 North Franklin St., near the corner of Third and North Franklin.
Clair has been painting in Juneau since the early 1990s and has shown work at a variety of local galleries. He recently retired from work with the state and is devoting more time to art.
He moved into the studio in June and initially planned to just paint there.
"Once I got down here and got it cleaned out I decided to hang some work on the walls and do some selling out of here," he said.
His studio show will feature seven or eight new paintings, he said, art he described as bright, altered landscapes with lots of color. He also will have some older paintings and prints for sale.
