Correction
Due to incorrect information provided by Alaska Airlines, a story in Friday's Empire about the company's layoffs overstated the number of jobs lost in Juneau. The airline said it will not cut 10 aircraft maintenance technician positions in Juneau, as previously reported. The other reported Juneau layoffs will stand: 12 fleet cleaners, one ground equipment technician, one facilities technician and, after the coming legislative session, two ticket agents downtown.

Due to an erroneous press release from the book publisher, a review of the book "Not Really an Alaskan Mountain Man" in Sunday's Empire stated that the author, Doug Fine, was the news director at KHNS in Haines. Fine left for a year's sabbatical some time ago and is working this summer as a guide on the Chilkat River. The news director of KHNS is Dan Coleman.
