In 1963 they, along with there oldest child, Jeri, moved to Juneau when John was hired by the Alaska Department of Transportation. During the next nine years, the household grew by two more with the birth of their sons, Scott and Sean, and later on a grand daughter and three grandsons.

One of the biggest ventures the couple had taken, along with their two oldest kids and families was the purchase of the F-Stop Photo Finishing store in the mid-1980s. The company was run successfully and later sold in the mid-1990s. The couple currently spend their time working during the summers for a couple of local business as well as watching their youngest grandson during the weekdays when he isn't in school. When time permits they also enjoy taking their RV out on road trips. The Jordan's still reside in Juneau.
