Jazmine Marie Wilson
Age: 5.
Grade: Kindergarten.
School: Harborview Elementary School.
Inspiration: "I like to draw what I see in books. I love books very much. My favorite book is 'I want to Drive the Bus!' (known as 'Don't let the Pidgeon Drive the Bus,' by Mo Willems.) In the end, he (the pidgeon) says, 'Please? I will be your friend.'"
Experience: "I've been drawing for seven minutes." She said she remembers doing her first drawing when she was 3 years old. "Then, at 4, it was my very happy birthday. William blowed out the candles, and my teacher was being friendly, so she put the candles on again."
All in the family: "My sister Lijo sings really good - really loud - like, 'Into the sea!' - my mom bakes really good bread and does office things and has a comuputer."
Favorite artists: Cartoons, ballerinas and cheerleaders.
Future plans: "When I grow up, I want to be a ballerina conductor. I love ballerinas. They do awesome pirouettes. I do ballet too. I went to the ballerina school at the ballerina center. (Jazmine's dad clarified; she is probably referring to an opportunity she had to work with the Juneau drill team at the beginning of the summer.)"
Activites: "I sing, songs like Hannah Montana and Miley Cyrus: 'I like to work it - I like to get it - That's when I get it right.'" Her dad said Jazmine sings anything that's on the radio. "She knows all the words!" he said.
You should know: "I like to cook with my mother - yummy pasketti and macaroni and cheese. I have a cute little puppy who's excited in the morning. She's learning to stay in her bed. Her name is Winter. She's a baby. She's ours. We've had her two months and two minutes. She's ours forever."
Her teacher, Ms. Kitty, says: "Jazmine is so bubbly! Her sister was such a serious student." Jazmine was selected by Rally for drawing such wonderful pictures. It's only the first week of school and Jazmine already has her art on the walls!"
