Kiersten Smith and Mark Johnson were married on Aug. 9, 2008, at the Cathedral of the Nativity of the Blessed Holy Mary in Juneau. The ceremony was officiated by Mother Hunter Silides, associate pastor of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church.
Due to the reconstruction phase of Holy Trinity, Father Thomas welcomed the couple to be married at the cathedral. A reception followed at the Juneau Arts & Humanities Center.
The bride is the daughter of Roy and Johanna Smith, of Juneau. She received her master's degree from Seattle University and has been teaching special education in Seattle, Wash.
The groom is the son of Darrel and Rosemary Johnson, of Eveleth, Minn. He received his master's degree from Rush University in Chicago, Ill., and is the owner of Wellstream Events Inc., based in Seattle.
The maids of honor were Amber and Dorian Smith. The best woman was Cathy Bogolub, and the groomsman was Scott Potter. Dane Potter and Tony Bogolub were ring bearers, and Daley Potter was the flower girl.
The couple honeymooned in Vancouver, British Columbia, and will make their home in St. Paul, Minn.
