Search for missing Sitka man suspended

JUNEAU - The Coast Guard suspended a search for a 41-year-old Sitka man missing since the weekend.

Chuck Thompson is believed to have fallen overboard during a beachcombing expedition at Southern Baranof Island.

Officials said ground and air searches failed to find Thompson, who had been staying at a cabin at Sevenfathom Bay.

Thompson, a Harris Air employee, was due back Sunday morning and was reported overdue by his employer.
