The UAF Cooperative Extension Service (CES), Juneau District Office invites the public to a special community kitchen event, "Jams and Jellies Workshop" on Sept. 17 at Thunder Mountain High School. Visiting Fairbanks extension agent Dr. Roxie Dinstel will teach the workshop from 6:30 until 8:30 p.m. There is a $15 materials fee for the workshop.

Following the workshop, there will be open kitchen time until 9:30 p.m. Participants will have the opportunity to make additional jams and jellies, but they must call to reserve a spot and provide their own berries, jars, and pectin.

Space is limited and pre-registration is required for both workshop and open kitchen. The deadline for registration and payment (if applicable) is Sept. 15. To register, call 796-6221 or visit the CES office at the Bill Ray Center, 1108 F St, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
