Garrett Erin Kelly, 28, beloved son of Shannon Garrett and James Kelly, died at his home in Pocatello, Idaho on August 29th, 2010 of heart failure.
Born in Juneau, he grew up in Olympia, Wash. from second grade until graduating from Capital High School in 2000. After graduation, Garrett went back to Alaska where he worked for the Alaska State Troopers and the state of Alaska. After several years he moved to Bountiful, Utah where he worked with his brother Sean Hosman, owner of Assessments.com. Two years ago Garrett moved to Pocatello, Idaho where he lived with his sister Gina, brother-in-law Reese, and his five nieces and nephews while he continued working with his brother.
Garrett was, and always will be, larger than life in all ways. He was amazing on the piano, a great writer, and unbelievably creative. He had immense personality, perceptiveness, gentleness, kindness, brilliance, humor, love, and most of all, heart. He dearly loved his family and his friends and he was a true blessing in every life he touched.
For all those he has left behind, we, his family, wish that each of us will carry Garrett's life on in our own lives by being each day a little more like him: loving more, laughing more, being a little gentler, a little more kind, and a lot more courageous. He will be loved and missed forever by those he leaves behind: his mother, Shannon Garrett; father and stepmother, Jim and Debra Kelly; sister and her husband, Gina and Reese Jensen; brother and his wife, Sean and Tammie Hosman; nephews, Liam and Kian Jensen, Zach and Danny Hosman; his nieces, Tanisha, Kira, and Brielle Jensen, and Rachael Hosman, and hundreds of beloved friends.
A memorial for Garrett was held Friday at The Woman's Club of Olympia, Wash. For anyone who wishes to learn more about Garrett you may read his blog at: stagesofchange.blogspot.com. Or to offer your thoughts about Garrett go to either Garrett's Facebook page, or to cornelisonfh.com.
