The boys, clockwise from left, are Jerry Spaltman, Robert Lewis, Robert Schenker, Rick Winniford and Marvin Simms. The girls, from left, are Dorothy Williams and Heather McLean. Miller was lieutenant governor under Walter Hickel. He became governor after Hickel was appointed U.S. Secretary of the Interior by President Nixon. The headline on the front page of the newspaper reads "Nixon hopes for end of the (Vietnam) war in 1970." The newspaper was eventually renamed the Juneau Empire.
