United Way of Southeast Alaska would like to thank the following individuals and businesses that helped to make our 24th annual campaign kickoff in Juneau so successful.
Thank you to Greg Chaney for a fantastic local video we will be airing at all our workplace campaign presentations. To Costco for two wonderful All American Chocolate Cakes which won our 2009 Chocolate Moose Award and to Breeze In for 100 chocolate treats, the Alaska Fudge Co., and to our 18 community partners that added to the chocolate extravaganza this year including the hand dipped chocolates from Big Brothers Big Sisters.
Partners AEYC, the American Red Cross, AWARE, Polaris House, Helping Hands, SAIL, REACH, Catholic Community Service, Alaska Public Health, Alaska Health Fair, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Boys and Girls Club, SERRC, SAGA, Juneau Youth Services, Gastineau Human Services, Cancer Connection and Juneau Family Health & Birth Center all had informational tables to explain some of the services they offer in Southeast Alaska.
Congratulations to Betty Kaplor for being the Volunteer of the Year and to the other eight nominees who were all wonderfully inspirational as well: Tisha Gieser, Vivian Hegg, Scott Fischer, Larry Thomas, of Ketchikan, Ellen and Corey Pavitt, Armando Rangel, of Ketchikan, Ward Lamb and Diana Rossmiller.
