ANCHORAGE - A 28-year-old fisherman was lifted off a fishing boat after apparently suffering shellfish poisoning.

KTUU-TV reports a Coast Guard helicopter from Kodiak early Saturday morning evacuated Jonathon Botz from the Miss Michelle about 15 miles northwest of Kodiak.

A fellow crew member called in the agency.

The helicopter crew lifted Botz off the boat at 6:45 a.m. and landed in Port Lions, then transported Botz to Providence Kodiak Island Medical Center for treatment.
