• Capital City Soccer League - Women's 2002 Tournament: Championship game of the double-elimination tournament is 3 p.m. Sunday at Adair-Kennedy Memorial Park, with an if-necessary game set for 7:45 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 18, at Dimond Park to break any ties.

• Juneau Alpine Club - Mount Jumbo and beyond trek, explore the ridgeline south of Mount Jumbo in this climb of moderate difficulty. Info: Trip leader Carol Race, 586-2328.

• Juneau Youth Football League - PeeWee Division: Seahawks vs. Cowboys, 9 a.m. on baseball field; Junior Division: Broncos vs. Chiefs, 1:30 p.m. on football field; Steelers vs. Vikings, 3:30 p.m. on football field; Senior Division: Sitka Storm vs. 49ers, 9 a.m. on football field; Ketchikan vs. Buccaneers, 11:30 a.m. on football field. • Southeast Road Runners Club - Action Rehab 10K and 1-Mile: Meet at 9:30 a.m. at the Auke Recreation Area large shelter for 10 a.m. race starts. • Juneau Alpine Club - Observation Peak Redux, this two-day trek (Saturday and Sunday) is a high-energy trek requiring an ice ax. If a similar trip was able to take place on Sept. 7-8, the group may decide to make another trek this time. Info: Trip leader Tim Arness, 209-2589.


• Juneau Yacht Club-Sailing Squadron monthly meeting - Meet at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 16, at the Juneau Yacht Club for the monthly meeting and dinner. Info: Chris Miller, 789-3546.

• JRC/The Alaska Club World Team Tennis program - Meet at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 17, at the Valley location of JRC/The Alaska Club for the start of this eight-week-long team tennis program. There will be three rounds of matches, at 5 p.m., 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. every Tuesday, with each four-person team (or country) playing at one of the three times. • Juneau Freewheelers Bicycle Club 2003 event meeting - Meet at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 18, at El Sombrero restaurant downtown to plan cycling events for the 2003 season. • "North to Alaska in 2002" Little League Division 1 Conference - This is the first time this Western Region Little League conference will take place in Juneau, and the event is cohosted by Gastineau Channel Little League and Alaska District No. 2 Little League. The conference, which is expected to attract about 200 volunteers and officials from the Pacific Coast, opens at noon on Thursday, Sept. 19, and concludes at 11 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 22. • JRC/The Alaska Club and Juneau Tennis Association - The Doubles Championships: Registration closes at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 26, for this tournament, which starts at 9 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 27. The tournament ends on Sunday, Sept. 29. This doubles tennis tournament features divisions for men's teams, women's teams, mixed teams, parent/child teams and junior teams of various levels. Players can enter two events each (for example, a men's team and a mixed team), with each event costing $15. • Juneau-Douglas High School Dance Team - The JDHS Dance Team will hold training clinics in preparation for team tryouts at the Marie Drake School Gym. The clinics will take place from 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday through Thursday, Sept. 24-26, from 1-4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 28, and from 7-9 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 30. The team tryouts are 6-10 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 1, at Marie Drake. Those JDHS students interested in trying out for this year's team are encouraged to attend as many training sessions as possible. • Youth open gym - Meet from 8-11 p.m. on Saturdays (Sept. 21, 28) at Dzantik'i Heeni Middle School gym. Friday youth open gyms at Floyd Dryden Middle School are on hiatus until October.
