Election officials certify primary results

JUNEAU - State election officials have certified the results of last month's primary.

The final tally in the GOP U.S. Senate race showed Joe Miller with 2,006 votes more than U.S. Sen. Lisa Murkowski. Miller had 55,878 votes, or 50.9 percent; Murkowski had 53,872 votes, or about 49.1 percent.

Democrat Scott McAdams garnered 18,035 votes, or about 50 percent, in his primary.

Officials received recount requests for state House Districts 12 and 18.
