Emergency crews work to extricate one of two 19-year-old women after their vehicle struck a rock wall and a telephone pole Sunday afternoon at Irwin and 12th streets near Cope Park. The two escaped serious injury, although rescue workers needed nearly 30 minutes to remove one of them, officials said. The two women were taken to Bartlett Regional Hospital where one was admitted but released Sunday night.
