Hal Daugherty and Mike Winters, first two from left, were among 45 new airport security screeners sworn in Saturday at a ceremony at the Federal Building. Dave Mitchell, federal security director for the Juneau Airport and other airports in Southeast, led the new employees as they took an oath to uphold their duties in Juneau. Mitchell recognized several airport and airline officials for their work on security since the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. Interim City Manager John MacKinnon presented Mitchell and his staff with an American flag and an Alaska flag that flew at the state Capitol on Sept. 11, 2002.
