What treasures are stashed around Juneau? The Treasure Hunters Roadshow aims to find out when they come through town next week, Sept. 21-25. During this free event, locals will have a chance to talk to antique and collectible experts about their treasures, have some fun and possibly make some money.
Event organizers said the treasure hunters are hoping to see items such as coins and paper currency issued prior to 1965, toys, dolls, trains, vintage jewelry, old and modern musical instruments, war memorabilia, gold and silver jewelry, costume jewelry, advertising memorabilia, swords, knives, daggers, and the unusual. Nearly all coins, vintage jewelry, musical instruments and toys made prior to 1965 are highly sought after by collectors. Gold items will be priced according to that day's current gold value.
Treasure Hunters Roadshow will be held from 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. Tuesday-Friday, Sept. 21-24, and from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 25, at the Prospector Hotel downtown.
