The Juneau-Douglas High School junior varsity football team won a thriller Friday at Adair-Kennedy Memorial Field.

The Crimson Bears stopped a fourth-and-goal to beat Colony 16-12.
Colony took an early 6-0 lead, but JDHS fought back as quarterback Cameron Fronimos hit Brad Soneson for a touchdown. A two-point conversion put JDHS ahead 8-6.
The Knights reclaimed the lead with about 2:30 left in the game, but the Bears stopped the two-point conversion attempt to hold Colony's lead to 12-8.
Matthew Maka provided the game-winning touchdown when he returned a punt 60 yards for the score.
Christian Parker had an interception for the Bears while linebacker Steven Costello aided Juneau's defensive performance. Defensive linemen Eric Ashenfelter, Cole Bossio, Justin Brooks and Ben Hotch also helped in the win.
JDHS improved to 5-1 with the win. After falling to North Pole in Week 3, the Crimson Bears rebounded to beat Wasilla 24-6 and Palmer 22-20.
The Bears host West Valley's JV at 5 p.m. Friday.
