Daughter of terrorism suspect to give talk at UAS Wednesday

Al Jazeera television producer and author Laila Al-Arian will be in Juneau to present a talk, "Man Without a Country: The trial of Sami Al-Arian," this Wednesday at the University of Alaska Southeast.

In the talk she will discuss the controversial imprisonment of her father, Dr. Sami Al-Arian, is a University of South Florida professor who was arrested on terrorism charges in 2003.

The talk will begin at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Egan Lecture Hall at UAS.

Laila Al-Arian is the co-author of the acclaimed book, "Collateral Damage: America's War Against Iraqi Civilians."

Clips from a documentary on the effect of the trial and imprisonment on the Al-Arian family will be shown at the presentation.
