JUNEAU - Bartlett Regional Hospital announced Wednesday the end of the visitation suspension in its obstetrics unit.
Some restrictions on visitation to the obstetrics unit are likely to remain in place through flu season as a precaution:
Visitors must be free of illness. Visitors with signs or symptoms of illness will not be granted entry.
Visitors must sanitize hands before entering the unit and the patient room.
A patient may designate two adult visitors in addition to the father to visit during their stay.
Except for siblings of the newborn, no children under age 12 will be permitted.
In the event that a patient exhibits flu-like symptoms, visitation for that patient will be limited to one adult support person.
The suspension was put in place Tuesday after one obstetrics patient developed symptoms consistent with H1N1 swine flu. The patient was isolated and has since been released.
