Juneau police, fire officials and state troopers reported:
Assaults:
A woman, 32, was arrested for assault and making a false report at 9:26 p.m. Monday on South Franklin Street. She was lodged at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center.
Thefts:
A man reported at 7:46 a.m. Monday near Muir Street that a black wallet-size purse was stolen sometime Sunday night. The wallet was recovered but cash was missing.
Police responded to a report at 7:56 a.m. Monday near Radcliffe Road of the theft of a cell phone, wallet and $13 in cash from a vehicle.
A man reported at 8:37 a.m. Monday near Muir Street the theft of loose change and a wallet from his unlocked car.
A woman reported at 9:10 a.m. Monday near Eagle Street the theft of two pre-paid cell phones from a vehicle sometime the night before.
A man reported at 11:15 a.m. Monday near Industrial Boulevard that a 6-foot Berkeley fishing pole and brass deep sea reel were stolen from a boat in a secure yard sometime between Aug. 22 and Aug. 27.
Vandalism and criminal mischief:
A man reported at 8:15 a.m. Monday near North Street that a residence had been egged.
Animal encounters:
Bears were reported Monday at 9:02 a.m. near Point Lena Loop, 8:14 p.m. near Hayes Way, 9:11 p.m. near Willoughby Avenue, 9:14 p.m. near South Franklin Street and the tram, at 10:40 p.m. near Goldbelt Avenue and 11:31 p.m. near Steelhead Street.
Bears were reported today at 1:15 a.m. near Glacier Highway, 2:46 a.m. near Belardi Drive, 6:43 a.m. near Distin Avenue and 6:49 a.m. near Goldbelt Avenue.
