I appreciated the letter titled "Prosecution or War" by Tom Wagner in Sunday's Empire. Although I want the culprits punished as much as anyone, I am somewhat alarmed about what seems at times to be a war frenzy. One headline (thankfully not the Empire's) read something like "America wants War."
Although I plan to fully support what the nation decides, I am hopeful that patience will be the watchword. Surgical strikes against outlaws are one thing; protracted efforts to root terrorists out on their home turf are another.
I want justice, not war, although my faith in the nation is strong enough to support war if it comes. But I don't want war and am troubled by the constant use of the word.
