Fluoride is still hazardous waste

Let me get this straight. You can't put fluoride into the air; it is hazardous waste and a strictly regulated pollutant.

You can't put fluoride into rivers, lakes and streams; it is hazardous waste and a strictly regulated pollutant.

But if you put fluoride into the water supply, and dispose of it through the water supply, it no longer is a pollutant?

I'm told the city formerly added about 30,000 pounds of sodium fluoride a year to our municipal water supply. That means if we approve water fluoridation, we'll put 30,000 pounds of fluoride into Gastineau Channel each year.

Let me rephrase that so my statement is clear. If we approve water fluoridation, we'll put 30,000 pounds of hazardous waste into Gastineau Channel each year. And if we approve water fluoridation, we'll put hazardous waste into our bodies. My vote is no.
