Animal complaint:

Sound off on the important issues at

• Police received a report shortly after 10 p.m. Monday that a bear was eating garbage out of a garbage container in the 5000 block of Pine Street.

• Police received a report shortly before 10 p.m. Sunday that a bear was eating garbage out of a garbage container in the 1000 block of Edwin Place.


• Police received a report at about 4:40 p.m. Sunday that a Macintosh Powerbook in a black case, worth about $2,500; a Compaq laptop, worth $200; and a 160-gigabyte LaCie external computer drive, worth $200, were stolen from a locked Plymouth Voyager on Basin Road. The vehicle was not damaged.

• A man reported at about 6 a.m. Monday that a blue .45-caliber ACP Baby Desert Eagle handgun, worth $250, and a red Camelbak hydration backpack, worth $60, were stolen from his vehicle.


• A 23-year-old man was arrested at about 9:20 p.m. Sunday in the 9100 block of Glacier Highway on charges of criminal trespassing and drunkenness on a licensed premises. He was taken to Lemon Creek Correctional Center.


• A man reported at about 2:10 p.m. Sunday that vandals had caused about $120 worth of damage to his chain-link fence in the 4300 block of Mendenhall Boulevard.

Vehicle accidents:

• At about 8 a.m. Monday, police received a report that a 1993 Chevrolet, driven by a 38-year-old man, and a 2006 Toyota, driven by a 53-year-old woman, collided on Egan Drive. No damage or injuries were reported.

• Police received a report shortly before 9 a.m. that a blue 1988 Toyota, driven by a 27-year-old man, struck a black 2004 Honda, driven by a 36-year-old man, on Fourth Street. The Toyota was not damaged and the amount of damage to the Honda was unknown.
