ACS wants to charge for phone payments

JUNEAU - State regulators are seeking comment on an Alaska Communications Systems Inc. proposal to charge customers $3 when paying monthly utility bills with help from customer service representatives.

Anchorage-based ACS would charge the fee when a transaction with a representative involves making a payment on an account.

The ACS proposal can be downloaded at the Regulatory Commission of Alaska Web site,, by entering "TA142-359" in the "Find a Matter" search box.

People can comment on the ACS proposal by submitting written comments to the RCA at by Sept. 22, and copying ACS at 600 Telephone Ave., MS60, Anchorage, AK 99503.
