It appears that some of the very people who say that we whiners are hurting tourism are the ones who are selling misleadingly labeled art to the tourists. Just who is hurting the tourists?

The average tourist cannot afford authentic Native art and is quite happy to take home an affordable souvenir.

The city collects more than half-a-million dollars a year for hazardous waste. I think the city manager should give us a breakdown on where that money goes and why they were able to take money out of hazardous waste for junk cars.

Regarding the problem in downtown, if we had another parking garage it would make it easier and safer to drive in downtown Juneau.

Just because the high school promotes abstinence doesn't mean they can't promote safe sex also. We should have the right to choose and choose safely.

The teen health center does not promote safe sex, it promotes irresponsibility and selfish indulgence. By nature, human beings are born experts in these areas. The only safe sex for adolescent children and unmarried adults is abstinence.

The city is facing a financial shortfall again this year. Maybe they could get JPD to start enforcing traffic laws. If they would take care of some of the speeders we'd be better off.

The police should start enforcing the 45 mph construction zone speed limit before one of our friends get killed.

I think it's ridiculous that the road crew would pave the roads during traffic hour.

I think Secon could have done a better job in planning the road closure.

Why would you close the highway on Monday night, don't you watch football?

I hope Jamie Parsons and those of you who want a road into Juneau were stuck in the traffic jam yesterday so you'd get a feel for what that DOT-projected, seven-fold increase in traffic would be like in Juneau.

A big part of Juneau is in an avalanche zone. A road to Skagway is the only reasonable solution for a long-term transportation infrastructure. Go with the engineering-preferred alternative, not the politicians.

Since the hospital built itself as regional, Juneau shouldn't be the only place to pay for its expansion.

The CBJ doesn't need another white elephant like the ice rink in Douglas. It's too small and needs to be built in another area, like by the high school. Vote no on proposition two.

I think they have too many things crammed into proposition two. If it was just the hospital or the schools I'd vote for proposition two.

Someone should check into the prices that UAS food service charges. I'm a full-time staff person and even I cannot afford to eat at UAS anymore.

Attention all PFD applicants, if you filed electronically this year, you better check the status of your PFD, because they lost a lot of applications this year.

If you take the bear's home away by clear-cutting the forest, they don't really have a choice but to come into our communities.
