Congratulations to airport for taking needed action

While reading the Juneau International Airport Board meeting notes from August, I noticed that the airport board finally recognized the inappropriate use of the airport as a staging area (dumping area in some cases) for nonaeronautical craft such as boats, trucks, cars, cranes, etc. They are taking action to remove these items from the airport.

It has taken many years, but I wanted to congratulate Jerry Mahle, airport operations superintendent, previous and current airport management and the current airport board for finally dealing with this problem.

Airports are for planes. Slips are for boats. Parking lots are for cars.
