Judy Shook, a local spiritual leader who combines art, poetry, sacred dance, singing, creative ritual and storytelling to enable people in new ways of relating with each other and the divine, will offer an Interplay introduction class from 10 a.m. to noon Sept. 27 at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 9161 Cinema Drive.
"Life can be easier, less stressful, fuller, more satisfying and more fun," Shook said. "Participants around the world in more than 50 cities and five continents enjoy Interplay for profound personal wellbeing, community building and just plain fun."
The class, for adults of all ages and physical abilities, will feature a taste of incremental "forms" that lead participants to movement and stories, silence and song, ease and amusement. No experience is necessary. Cost is on a sliding scale, $10 to $20.
"There are many things we can list that 'stress us out.' Interplay helps us access and practice the things that bring ease, grace and amusement into our lives," she added. "This is especially good for adults who are 'recovering serious persons.'"
Shook is a graduate of Matthew Fox's Institute of Creation Spirituality and an ordained United Methodist minister.
