Ljubomir "LJ" Medenica is a new adjunct instructor in the Univeristy of Alaska Southeast School of Management. For the the Fall 2010 semester, he is teaching three courses focused on "how to" in business: Small Business Management (BA166), Management and Supervision (BA201), and a new course at UAS - Marketing Practices (BA260).
Medenica brings more than twenty-five years of impressive management consulting, business and training experience to UAS from various projects in more than thirty countries on four continents, including numerous engagements for leading international organizations. Over the last three years, Medenica was engaged in several countries as a United Nations Development Program expert for customized team building workshops, including advanced communication and strategy planning. He was also a lecturer at several business education centers and universities in the US and abroad.
Medenica's philosophy of teaching is to use real life cases and a practical "how to" approach through individual and team projects, helping students to understand fundamental contents of the course and implement lessons learned. In addition, Medenica is using experiential learning to improve communication, problem solving and teamwork - essential skills for functioning in modern fast-changing business and social environments of multicultural, international and networked business.
Medenica holds an MBA from the University of Belgrade, Serbia (former Yugoslavia) and is in the final phase of a PhD in management from California Coast University. He can be reached at email@example.com.
