Juneau police, fire officials and state troopers reported:

Vandalism:

• At 9:02 p.m. Sunday, damage was reported to the door frame of a 1995 Jeep Wrangler in the 1600 block of Renninger Drive. It appeared someone had tried to pry the door open.

Animal encounters:

• A bear was reported inside a home at 7:07 a.m. Monday in the 2800 block of Mendenhall Loop Road. In other reports, a bear was reported trying to get into a trash container at 12:38 a.m. Monday in the 1000 block of Salmon Creek Lane. Another caller reported at 8:35 a.m. Monday that a bear had been in a trash container the previous night in the 3400 block of Glacier Highway in the Twin Lakes area. Bears also were reportedly seen at 4:24 p.m. Sunday in the 300 block of Decker Way downtown, at 5:40 p.m. Sunday in the 4500 block of Mountainside Drive in the Lemon Creek area, and at 10:20 p.m. Sunday on Sunset Drive in the Lemon Creek area.
