JUNEAU - Days after saying he wasn't inclined to mount a write-in candidacy for governor, Bill Walker is rethinking that position.
His campaign manager, Taylor Bickford, tells The Associated Press the landscape has changed significantly with Friday's announcement by U.S. Sen. Lisa Murkowski that she would run as a write-in in an effort to keep her job.
Bickford says Walker has received an outpouring of support and is seriously considering re-entering the gubernatorial race. He says Walker is taking the weekend to reevaluate his options.
Walker finished second to Gov. Sean Parnell in last month's crowded GOP primary. Walker focused on his plan to build an "all Alaska" line, arguing it provids the best alternative to getting a line built and providing a market for Alaska gas.
