Driving while intoxicated:
Shortly after midnight Wednesday, Steven Evenson, 28, was arrested at a bar on South Franklin Street for drunken driving and for driving with a blood-alcohol level of more than 0.10 percent. He was additionally charged with driving while his operator's license was revoked. He was transported to and lodged at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center.
Shortly before 5 p.m. Wednesday, a man, 48, reported his license plate stolen from his vehicle in the library area of the Marine Way parking garage.
About 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, a blue bicycle was found on Alaway Avenue and brought to JPD for safekeeping.
About 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, a man, 26, reported a Philip Magnavox portable CD player, REI matchless fire starter and a Bible in a black leather case were stolen from his unlocked vehicle on Jennifer Drive. The items were valued at about $220.
Shortly before 9 p.m. Wednesday, a man, 33, reported his vehicle window had been smashed and approximately $965 worth of tools had been stolen while the vehicle was parked at Marine View Apartments. Window replacement was estimated at $350.
The downtown fire station responded shortly before 5 p.m. Wednesday to a report of a car fire at mile 3 of Egan Drive. A Juneau volunteer was standing over the open hood ready to use an extinguisher when on-duty firefighters arrived. The motorist had seen flames from the carburetor, but firefighters did not witness any. They waited until the car cooled down and then turned it over to police.
About 11:30 a.m. today, Capital City Fire & Rescue responded to a report of smoke in an apartment above the Douglas Cafe. The source of the smoke was apparently burned food. No one was injured.
Vandalism and criminal mischief:
Shortly before 10 a.m. Wednesday, a man, 34, reported his 1998 Ford truck was egged on Lena Loop Road, causing paint chips to the front passenger-side fender.
At noon Wednesday, police assisted another agency in the destruction of drug paraphernalia.
About 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, a complaint was received about a bear at Glacier Valley School.
About 10 p.m. Wednesday, a complaint was received about a bear at Diane Road.
Shortly after midnight Wednesday, police received two bear complaints from the Switzer Village trailer park.
About 2:30 a.m. today, police received a bear complaint from Douglas Highway and another from Duran Street.
Shortly after 4 p.m. Wednesday, a 1997 Chevy was stopped on Ferry Way. A man, 23, was cited for driving with a revoked license. He was released at the scene.

Juneau Crime Line Inc. is offering a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest or indictment of the person or people responsible for the beating death of local resident Daniel Brux-Brown, 36. Brux-Brown was found dead May 22 in his apartment. Police believe he met his death a day before his body was found.
