McMichael runs wild in Huskies' victory over Hawkeyes

Daniel Nore rushes for two touchdowns as Seahawks tie the Rams, 12-12

Tyler McMichael scored three touchdowns to lead the Huskies to a 20-0 victory over the Hawkeyes in Juneau Youth Football League Junior Division action last weekend.

McMichael scored on runs of 58, 50 and 6 yards to lift his team to the win.


Rams 12, Seahawks 12

The Seahawks' defense kick started the game by forcing a fumble, setting up Daniel Nore's first touchdown run of the game.

The Rams answered back as Kristopher Hill scampered 57 yards to the end zone.

Timoa Maka put the Rams ahead in the third quarter as Timoa Maka ran 37 yards on a reverse for the go-ahead touchdown.

The Seahawks responded, however, as Nore scored his second rushing touchdown of the game on the Seahawks' final series to secure the draw.

Jacob Hamilton contributed positive yardage on the ground for the Seahawks while the running game greatly benefited from the blocking of John Jolly, Ryan Bray, Bradley Wright and Thelea Salvik.

For the Rams, Samson Nayer, Jason Nguyen and Nathan Dalton played solid defense.

Colton Welch preserved the tie for the Rams when he made the tackle on the Seahawks' extra-point conversion attempt.

Cowboys 6, Titans 6

The Cowboys' Cole Smith made two quarterback sacks as his team fought the Titans to a tie.

Cowboys quarterback Jake Tanner accounted for his team's lone score with a 68-yard quarterback keeper.

The Titans knotted the game in the fourth quarter as Bonham Ohst scored on a 38-yard run.


Red Raiders 14, Hurricanes 0

Brian Koenig rushed for a touchdown and passed for another score as the Red Raiders shutout the Hurricanes.

Koenig connected with Steven Sabadin for a 6-yard score then later completed a two-point conversion pass to Sabadin.

Koenig also rushed 12 yards for a score.

Bruins 18, Cougars 8

Three different people scored for the Bruins as they overcame a tough Cougars team.

Eric Edenso and Franklin Hotch had rushing touchdowns while Beau Damian hit Samuel Nauer with a 9-yard touchdown pass in the win.

For the Cougars, Chris Hoffman scored on a 9-yard blast while the defense tackled a Bruins' ball-carrier in the endzone for a safety.
