Juneau police, fire officials and state troopers reported:

Driving while intoxicated:

At noon Thursday, F. Terie Sawyer, 39, was arrested on the Douglas Highway for drunken driving and additionally charged with refusal to submit to a breath test and driving with a revoked license. Sawyer was transported to and lodged at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center.

Assaults:

Shortly after 11 p.m. Thursday, a man, 37, was placed under citizen's arrest for assault after he participated in a fight at the Rendezvous bar. He was transported to and lodged at state prison.

Thefts:

About 4: 30 p.m. Thursday, a citizen reported a boy's silver, blue and green Motiv Rock Monster, 22-speed bicycle was stolen while left unattended for a short time at Harborview Elementary School. Estimated value is $100.

About 5:30 p.m. Thursday, a green bike belonging to a boy, 11, was stolen from the bike rack at Floyd Dryden Middle School.

Disorderly conduct:

Shortly before 11 p.m., a boy. 24, was arrested for disorderly conduct on Glacier Highway near Alaway Avenue after several drivers reported he was throwing rocks at passing cars. The boy was released to his father.

Underage drinking:

Shortly before 11 p.m. Thursday, a man, 20, was arrested on North Franklin Street for minor consuming of alcohol and being a minor on a licensed premises. He was transported to and lodged at state prison.

Vehicle accidents:

Capital City Fire & Rescue responded about 2:45 p.m. Thursday to a fender-bender at Mendenhall Loop Road and Hurlock Avenue. Two women were transported to Bartlett Regional Hospital as a precautionary measure. A 17-year-old suffered a neck injury, but was released home in good condition. A 24-year-old suffered a lower back injury, but was released in good condition. Both were released from the emergency room around 6 p.m.

Shortly before 1 a.m. today, police responded to the report of a motor vehicle accident in Marlintini's parking lot. A woman, 22, was transported to Bartlett Regional Hospital by ambulance for treatment of a broken leg. A verbal warning was issued to a driver, a man, 22, for unsafe backing. Alcohol was not involved.

Animal encounters:

About 8:30 p.m. Thursday, police received a report of a bear at Kodzoff Acres Mobile Home Park I. At the same time, they received a report of a bear in garbage at Sprucewood Trailer Park.

About 8:46 p.m. Thursday, police received a report of a bear on Stephen Richards Memorial Drive.

Shortly before midnight Thursday, police received a report of a bear on Steep Place.

Shortly after midnight Thursday, police responded to the report of a possible prowler in the Lemon Creek area. It was determined the prowler was actually a bear. The bear subsequently left the area.
