Anchorage union mulls shorter work week

ANCHORAGE - Members of the largest city employee union in Anchorage are voting on a proposal to have their work week shortened from 40 hours to 37.5 hours.

Mayor Dan Sullivan proposed the reduction to save about $6.7 million in next year's budget.

Members of the Anchorage Municipal Employees Association vote Monday from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m.
