Juneau police, fire officials and state troopers reported:

Vehicle accidents:

• Capital City Fire and Rescue reported it took three people to Bartlett Regional Hospital after an accident at 7:39 p.m. Sunday at outbound Egan and Hospital drives. Police cited an 18-year-old man on a charge of reckless driving. They reported the 1991 Mazda he was driving struck a 1999 Mazda in the rear. Both vehicles were towed from the scene, with damage estimated at $5,000. No condition was available on the people taken to the hospital.


• PlayStation 2 and Xbox game consoles were reported stolen at 6:32 p.m. Sunday from a home in the Kanata Street area. Each was valued at $200.

• At 7:07 p.m. Sunday, a woman reported her silver, 24-speed mountain bike was stolen sometime since Wednesday from the 6500 block of Glacier Highway in the Lemon Creek area. The bike was valued at $390.


• A tan 1988 Ford Ranger was reported struck by an unknown vehicle at 6:15 p.m. Sunday in a parking lot at Fifth and Gold streets. No damage estimate was available.

Animal encounters:

• At 12:33 a.m. Monday, a woman reported that a bear had turned over a freezer on her Mendenhall Loop Road porch and was eating the food inside. At 11:45 a.m. Monday, a bear was reported going through a trash container near Hospital Drive. Also, a bear was reported at 11:29 p.m. Sunday near National Park Service Road.
