Weather postpones Sitka game

Posted: Sunday, September 24, 2000

The Sitka varsity football team didn't play its scheduled game against Anchorage Christian Schools on Saturday because the ACS jet couldn't land in Sitka due to heavy fog.

Sitka coach Mark Mangini said the contest will be played 3:30 p.m. on Monday instead.

The ACS jet left Anchorage at 8 p.m. but was forced to overhead Sitka twice before changing its flight plan and landing in Ketchikan for fuel and returning to Anchorage at 2 a.m.
