Driving while intoxicated:

* Nathan Bastuscheck, 39, was arrested for drunken driving at 10:58 p.m. Saturday near Willoughby Avenue. He was lodged at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center.


* A man, 24, was arrested for domestic violence assault at 6:27 p.m. Saturday in the Mendenhall Valley. He was lodged at the state prison.

* Police cited two boys, 14 and 15, for fighting at 2:21 a.m. Sunday near Gull Way. Both were left in the care of their parents.

* A man, 26, was arrested for domestic violence assault and criminal mischief at 2:49 a.m. Sunday in the Mendenhall Valley. A woman, 29, also was arrested on an outstanding state trooper warrant. Both were lodged at the state prison.


* A man reported at 12:20 p.m. Saturday near Taku Boulevard that a laptop computer had been stolen from his vehicle between 1:30 and 11:30 a.m.

* Police responded to a report at 5:34 p.m. Sunday near Glacier Highway of a stolen wallet containing $62 and a $500 gift certificate.

* A man reported at 5:54 p.m. Sunday the theft near Marlintini's of a black Nokia cell phone valued at $70.

* Police responded to a report at 6:54 p.m. Sunday near Mendenhall Loop Road of the theft of a vinyl portable garage sometime Saturday night.

* A girl, 16, was arrested for stealing her father's Oldsmobile at 1:31 a.m. Monday near Back Loop Road and Windfall Lake Road. She was lodged at the Johnson Youth Center for vehicle theft and driving while her license is revoked.

Underage drinking:

* Police cited a boy, 16, for underage drinking at 12:42 a.m. near the Riverbend School parking lot.

* A girl, 15, was cited for underage drinking at 2:31 a.m. Sunday near Glacier Highway. She was transported home.

* A boy, 16, initially was contacted by police for underage drinking at 1:09 a.m. Monday near Front Street and Franklin Street. He was lodged at the Johnson Youth Center for violating probation.

Animal encounters:

* Bears were reported Saturday at 9:36 a.m. near Wood Street, 11:25 a.m. near Dixon Street, 6:56 p.m. near the State Office Building, 8:33 p.m. near the Auke Bay Post Office, 10:53 p.m. near Steelhead Street and 11:42 p.m. near Seventh Street.

Bears were reported Sunday at 12:06 a.m. near Mendenhall Loop Road, 12:18 a.m. near Cope Park, 2:27 a.m. near Steelhead Street, 5:54 a.m. near the Coast Guard Station, 8:30 a.m. near Third Street, 3:13 p.m. near Montgomery Street, 8:56 p.m. near John Street, 9:19 p.m. near Willoughby Avenue and 9:41 p.m. near Delta Drive.

Bears were reported today at 12:08 a.m. near Coogan Drive.


* A woman, 33, was arrested for disorderly conduct at 6:28 p.m. Sunday at the Glory Hole. She was released at the scene.
