Two-day Wilderness First Aid class offered

JUNEAU - The Red Cross of Alaska, together with the Boy Scouts of America, is offering a two-day class on wilderness first aid beginning at 9 a.m. today.

The class consists of hands-on activities on how to respond to emergencies when away from emergency medical systems. Students will learn a variety of topics including advanced wound care, head and spinal injuries, shock, environmental illnesses and winter survival. Includes free first aid kit.

The cost is $155. Bring friends and receive a $25 discount per person. Attendees must be 14 years old or older and they must have current CPR/AED adult certification prior to the start of the course. For more information call 877-330-2767 or go online to http://alaska.redcross.org.
