Begich among speakers at Dems' fundraiser

JUNEAU - U.S. Sen. Mark Begich is among the headliners at a fundraiser this week for Alaska Democrats.

The state Democratic party says Begich, gubernatorial candidate Ethan Berkowitz and U.S. Senate hopeful Scott McAdams will be among the speakers at the "unity dinner" Friday in Juneau.

The party says the event will feature a silent auction with "gourmet baked goods, jewelry and art." Dinner will include a choice of prime rib, salmon or a vegetarian meal, salad and chocolate thunder cake.

The suggested minimum donation for the event is $100. The party says money raised will benefit Democratic candidates through an absentee voter outreach program.
