Brandon Pilot scored a pair of rushing touchdowns late Saturday night as the Juneau-Douglas High School junior varsity football team claimed a 27-14 victory over the winless Ketchikan varsity in Ketchikan.
Pilot scored on runs of eight yards and 12 yards to lead the Crimson Bears, who were playing just the second JV game in school history.
Juneau's other scores came when Willy Dodd connected with Blake Thedinga on a 22-yard pass play and when back-up quarterback Kyle Sneed ran it in from the 2-yard-line after a muffed handoff bounced back into his hands.
Ketchikan, which is playing its first year as a high school team, had a pair of touchdown passes from Jay Fulk to Geoff Nordlund. One TD pass went for 40 yards and the other went 15.
Also, at 3:30 p.m. this afternoon will be the make-up Greatland Conference game between the Anchorage Christian Schools Lions and the Sitka Wolves. The game was originally scheduled for Saturday afternoon in Sitka, but the ACS team couldn't land in Sitka because of the foggy weather.
