Juneau will get to vote on the legislative move twice. The first vote will be Oct. 1. The Assembly you elect will send a clear message to the rest of Southeast Alaska.
There are probably a lot of people in Juneau who are not aware that Marc Wheeler was very active in environmental organizations whose efforts were to restrict resource-based industries in Southeast. It's Mr. Wheeler's activism of the past that causes me concern that his re-election would send the wrong message to Southeast Alaska.
It's time for Juneau to become a Capital City with elected leadership that thinks regionally, a community whose elected leadership respects our past and understands that the future requires the use of our natural resources. Ketchikan is a community whose heart was ripped out and we hope this never happens to Juneau. Elect candidates dedicated to creating economic opportunity for you and your neighbors, not economically dead zones throughout the region.
