Juneau police, fire officials and state troopers reported:

Drunken driving:

• Police arrested 21-year-old Leslie Chavolla on a charge of drunken driving at 2:07 a.m. Friday in the 4000 block of North Douglas Highway. The subject was lodged at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center.


• Police arrested a 16-year-old boy on a felony charge of first-degree vehicle theft at 4:18 a.m. Friday in the 4400 block of Kanata Street in the Mendenhall Valley.

• A 20-year-old woman reported the theft of a cash box containing $200 along with credit card receipts at 12:21 p.m. Friday in the 2000 block of Jordan Ave.

• A 47-year-old woman reported the theft of a cellular phone valued at $200 at 7:49 p.m. Friday.

• A 33-year-old woman reported the theft of her son's blue and silver 18-speed Mongoose bicycle at 8:13 p.m. from Rotary Park.

• An 87-year-old woman reported at 9:35 a.m. Saturday that three gazing globes valued at $50 each were stolen from her yard.

Vehicle burglaries:

• An unlocked car was reported broken into at 8:34 p.m. Thursday in the 8400 block of Duran Street in the valley. Nothing was reported stolen.

• An unlocked car was reported broken into at 9:59 p.m. Friday on Whittier Avenue and eight music DVDs valued at $160 was stolen.

Domestic Dispute:

• A 53-year-old woman was arrested at 4:20 a.m. Saturday in the 200 block of Marine Way downtown on a charge of domestic violence assault. She was lodged at the state prison.

• A 29-year-old man was arrested at 9:37 a.m. Saturday in the 1600 block of Douglas Highway for violation of a domestic violence order. He was lodged at the state prison.

Minor consuming:

• Police cited a 15-year-old boy at 6:53 p.m. Friday in the 9100 block of Mendenhall Mall Road on a charge of minor consuming. He was released to the care of an adult.


• A 22-year-old male was arrested at 1:17 a.m. Saturday in the 1700 block of Douglas Highway on charges of assault and misconduct involving weapons. He was lodged at the state prison.

Vehicle accident:

• Police cited a 17-year-old girl on a charge of failing to use due care to avoid an accident a 6:42 a.m. Friday on Mendenhall Loop and Mendenhall Mall roads. She was driving an Isuzu Rodeo that reportedly struck a Ford truck driven by a 57-year-old man. Damage was estimated at $2,000 to the Isuzu and $1,500 to the Ford.

• A green Honda driven by a 23-year-old woman was reported to have been struck by a silver Chevy at 2:16 p.m. Friday on Egan Drive. There were no injuries and drivers exchanged information.

• A man reported at 6:28 p.m. Friday that he was struck by a red Pontiac while riding a bicycle on Mendenhall Loop Road. Damage was reported at $100 for the bicycle.

Hit and run:

• At 1:12 p.m. Thursday, a Subaru Legacy was reported struck by an unknown vehicle while parked on Eighth Street at the Federal Building downtown.

• At 2:52 p.m. Thursday, a Subaru Forrester was reported struck by an unknown vehicle somewhere in the Juneau area.

Found property:

• Cash totaling $110 was turned over to police at 10:03 a.m. Friday after it was reportedly found on Anka Street in the Lemon Creek area.

Animal encounters:

• A bear was reported at 11:15 p.m. Thursday pounding on and pushing at the front door in the 4500 block of Dredge Lake Road in the valley. The bear reportedly left when the porch light was turned on. A bear and two cubs were reported at 4:09 p.m. Friday in the 1000 block of Salmon Creek Lane. The bears were not being aggressive. Another bear was reported at 10:34 p.m. Friday to be wandering around the 9000 block of Long Run Drive in the valley.
