Hudson will assume the trustee seat formerly occupied by another prominent Juneau political figure, Clark Gruening. Gruening is a former Juneau legislator and one of the original architects of the fund concept. He served for eight years on the Board of Trustees and held the office of Chairman of the Board from 1999 through 2001. At the annual meeting the governor honored Gruening for his service to the state.
