Juneau police, fire officials and state troopers reported:

Theft:

• A 14-year-old boy was cited on a charge alleging shoplifting at 2:58 p.m. Wednesday at a West Willoughby Avenue business. The boy was released to his father.

Traffic accidents:

• Police cited a 16-year-old girl after an accident at 12:11 p.m. Wednesday on outbound Egan Drive at Channel Drive. They allege she failed to maintain a safe distance when the 1992 Dodge she was driving slid on wet pavement and struck a 2003 Honda and then a 2002 Dodge pickup truck.

Vandalism:

• A woman reported at 9:24 a.m. Thursday a scratch along the entire driver's side of her Honda Civic. Damage was estimated at $800. The location was listed only as the Juneau area.

Trespassing:

• Police arrested a 38-year-old man on a charge alleging criminal trespass at 1:11 p.m. Wednesday near Glacier Highway in the Lemon Creek area. Police lodged him at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center.

Animal encounters:

• A young adult-size black bear was reported at 10:40 p.m. Wednesday near Wire Street and Glacier Highway.
