The Marie Drake Planetarium will present "The Great Eclipse" at 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 28. This will be a presentation on the July 22, 2009 total solar eclipse, which was the longest of the 21st century. It passed over the most populous lands of the world.
The planetarium will host a multimedia show covering eclipses in general and details of the 2009 eclipse. Two of the planetarium staff were present at the eclipse and will share their personal experiences.
The Planetarium will also present "The Night Sky" using the Spitz projector and the 30-foot dome to display the current astronomical conditions visible from Juneau.
